How will you be celebrating the New Year? Are you making any resolutions for 2010?

Hi Friends,
Christmas is almost upon us. The tree is decorated and all of the presents are wrapped at my house.
Now it’s time to tidy up before family arrives. In addition to cleaning the house, I’ll also be baking a cake like this one for Christmas dinner dessert, but instead of chocolate pieces, it will have strawberries on top. Yum! I will also be making special German jam cookies for my dad, just like I do every year. I can’t wait to get the oven turned on later today. Pretty soon my house will be filled with the sweet smells of the holiday season.
So, how about you? What will you be doing over the next few days to get ready for Christmas Day?

Well, it looks like none of the students were interested in joining in on the blog challenge. Perhaps we can try again next year.

Okay, students. I have a blogging challenge for you. Every day next week (Monday through Thursday) I am going to publish a blog post right here on this site. In each blog post I am going to ask you to respond either by CREATING A POST on your blog or by MAKING A COMMENT on my blog.
Those of you who complete all four blogging challenges by Friday, December 18th @ 8:00 a.m. will be entered into a drawing for a $1,000,000 prize.
Just kidding!!
All successful participants, however, will become the lucky owners of some brand new cool erasers! Now, I know you can’t resist that offer!
If you plan to complete all four blogging tasks next week, you need to post a comment here by Sunday, December 13th @ 6:00 p.m. Your comment should include the following information: 1) The main reason that you have decided to partcipate in the blogging challenge, 2) Two online safety tips that you have learned about this year, and 3) Three of your areas of interest. (“Areas of interest” could include activities that you already participate in that you really enjoy, such as playing clarinet, baking cookies, conducting science experiments, reading novels, etc. “Areas of interest” could also include things that you know a litle bit about, but would really like to learn more about, such as Ancient Egyptian history, how to do skateboarding tricks, how to make trendy jewelry, knowing what it takes to get into college, learning how to do advanced algebra problems, etc. Basically, “areas of interest” could be anything that you find exciting, interesting, and that you would like to learn more about.)
So, what are you waiting for?!! Post your comments now. Remember to be thoughtful in your responses and to check your grammar and spelling before submitting your comments.
I can’t wait to hear from you.
